TRACK FEATURE: STRATEJACKET - "BAD START"

Ah, to be a young power trio in San Francisco. Popping up here and there, playing house parties, under bridges, anywhere they’ll take you. To be noticed by a label and signed. What a cool start to your journey. Well, in the words of Walter Sobchak, “If you will it dude, it is no dream.”

It’s actually the basic origin story for the punk band StrateJacket, who are poised to release their debut self-titled album. We were lucky enough to get an early gander at the song “Bad Start” and it’s really catchy. There will be obvious comparisons to Green Day and Blink 182 but hey, there are worse things in the world than that. And the song is ultra catchy mid-tempo pop punk at its best, and for that we salute you. Also, the hook is threatening to bang around in my drug-addled old brain for at least a week, so thanks for that. Cheers boys, I would say that with “Bad Start”, you’re actually off to a surprisingly good one.
