TRACK FEATURE: POINTLESS - "DEADLY TEMPTATIONS"

Updated: Apr 7

Imagine, if you will, a world where Mr. Bungle made a baby with the Cramps, and that baby’s cries sounded a bit like the guy from Offspring. Now imagine that baby is a band and they’re actually not irritating at all. As a matter of fact, they’re pretty damn great. Oh yeah, and they’re German. Now you have some idea of what to expect with Berlin’s Pointless. At least I hope they’re from Berlin, Germany and not Berlin, Maryland or I’m gonna look like a real dick.

Either way, there’s a relatively new movement of bands that are talented enough to blend and change genres mid-song and I’m fully backing it. “Deadly Temptations” is a frantic, very well-crafted song about fighting the urge to do drugs and I think we can all relate to that. No? Ok, maybe just me then. Illregardless, this band is good, do yourself a favor and give ‘em a listen. (And yes, I’m aware I just invented a new word. I’m a journalist and I’m pretty sure we’re allowed to do that.)
