THE MANIC BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB RELEASE NEW SINGLE - "BLACKED OUT"

Blacked Out” is a unique indie rock and new wave crossover single from Toronto indie pop/rock sibling duo The Manic Boys and Girls Club. At once lyrically compelling and stamp-your-foot danceable, “Blacked Out” recounts the duo’s shared experiences touring, maintaining relationships, and dealing with destructive behaviors. One half of the track evokes 80s new wave sounds with lush synth leads and driving synth bass under female/male octave vocals, while the opposite half, the chorus, is an indie pop anthem that catches the listener with pounding bass, washy drums, and hooktastic vocal melodies.

The track is undeniably dance-worthy, and yet the lyrics are so emotionally charged, it’s impossible to decide whether to observe attentively or surrender yourself to the music. We’ve got chills listening to this powerful duo.

We added this track to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify. Dive into “Blacked Out” below and then follow The MGB Club for news on their forthcoming EP.
