We heard about the Sweden-based trio, Repeat, last year when we did a feature for their debut self-titled album. Just a year later, here we are listening to Rate Race, their brand new album that rips from the first track until its last! The band shines once again by delivering a dynamic set of tracks that serve as an impressive display of their songwriting. What a release!
A 9-track ride, Rat Race serves up a unique blend of styles. Sticking with what may become known as their signature sound, repeat pulls from elements of Punk Rock, Grunge, Garage Rock, and straight-up Rock n Roll. Each track comes fully equipped with melodic instrumentals, big catchy hooks, poppy vocal flows, and spot-on production work. The band really shines by being able to deliver a raw rock sound without sacrificing songwriting or production quality.
Each track flows seamlessly into the next here. That's a big reason why Rat Race feels so complete. Unlike a random collection of songs, this album feels very intentional. It's almost cinematic how each song plays into the next, and by the time it's over, you'll be ready to take the entire ride all over again.
You can check out the new album in its entirety below. We also added a couple of our personal favorites to our Underground Punk playlist on Spotify. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow Repeat so you can stay on top of what else they have going on. Enjoy!
