L.A. based Indie Rock trio Frat Mouse just released their new album "Plywood". This is the second album from the group, coming out exactly one year after their debut release "The Frag Movie". Overall this is a really impressive release from the band. At 9 tracks long, "Plywood" takes the listener on quite a journey.
Frat Mouse really excelled at crafting their own sound here. Elements of Indie, Emo, Pop Punk and even Folk are all present in their style. Unique song structures and transitions, vocal and instrumental work fueled with angst, heartfelt lyricism... "Plywood" is the perfect example of creating a modern hit, while keeping raw and emotional themes.
Admittedly, this was our first time listening to the band, but after hearing this release, it will not be the last. We're sure that any fan of this style will agree. We asked one of our writers to try and and sum up this Album in one sentence, and this is what she came up with "The truthfulness of Frightened Rabbit meets the power of Brand New".
Make sure to follow the band (linked below) to see what else they have going on. We added the title track from the album to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify.
