Back with another Band of the Week! This time around we're really stoked to bring you Arrows in Action. This is a band that caught our attention a few weeks back with the release of their new single. We'll get into all that and more, check out our interview with them below!
HU: First off, it's great to talk to you guys. Thanks for taking the time. For those who don’t know, who is Arrows in Action?
AIA: Arrows in Action is a Pop Rock band from Gainesville, FL made up of a group of friends who really love music and coffee.
HU: Where’d the name come from?
AIA: It beat out Jesse and the Boiz in a 5-way vote.
HU: Could you choose a favorite show or tour you've played?
AIA: Absolutely our Florida dates with The Home Team last May. A ton of fun shows, celebrating our Hell in Paradise EP release, and we got to hang with those awesome guys. Miss them a bunch!
HU: We love your new single, Failing on Purpose, can you tell us more about that track?
AIA: Failing on purpose is about the cognitive dissonance of wanting to change but also living in denial and not wanting to grow. I (victor) wrote the lyrics after a breakup, and we tracked it at Trackhappy Studios in Nashville with our good friend and producer Dan Swank.

HU: What's your favorite and least favorite thing about being a part of the Gainesville music scene?
AIA: Small town vibes / Small town vibes!
HU: Who is a band that you've met through playing shows that we should all be listening to right now?
AIA: Boston Marriage and Driveaway!
HU: How have you guys been handling the COVID-19 shutdown?
AIA: Taking lots of time to write and record new music while staying as engaged as possible with our amazing fans. We've been hanging with other artists on IG live to give our fans (and ourselves) the opportunity to meet some great musicians! We've released new music, had a blast playing acoustic for charity streams, and we still have a whole lot of content for fans to look forward to.
HU: If you could have Arrows in Action be direct support on tour for any band, who would it be?
AIA: Seaway!
HU: Do you guys have a favorite song to perform live? Is there a fan favorite live?
AIA: Failing On Purpose (even though we haven't gotten to play it at a real show yet) is our favorite to play live so far! And a fan favorite especially in Gainesville is MJF.
HU: Anything new coming up for Arrows in Action?
AIA: Keep an eye out for new songs and something big before the end of the year!
HU: Thanks for taking the time guys!
AIA: Thank YOU :)
