San Francisco-based artist, Apex4X, has been staying busy releasing music at an impressive rate over the last year. Their latest album, Nightfall, just dropped earlier this week. An 11-track track that takes you on a genre-bending and melodic ride, this album will no doubt bring the artist a fresh wave of new fans.
While the style is hard to pin into one word, there are a few constants throughout this album. First, we have the vocal performances. Splitting between female and male vocals, each song on Nightfall delivers infectious vocal work that's amplified by clever lyricism. Next, we have the instrumentals. Talk about a dynamic sound! Apex4X really shines here by delivering a unique style, and the ripping and well-performed instrumentals have a lot to do with that. When you take those two elements and you add in impressive songwriting and spot-on production work, you're going to be left with a powerful piece of art.
Each track flows seamlessy into the next on this album. That's why Nightfall feels so complete. Unlike a random collection of songs, this album feels very intentional. It's almost cinematic in a way. Sit back, close your eyes, hit play, and let Apex4X write the movie for your brain to make.
