Omaha based trio, The Party After, recently dropped their new EP, Happy Hour. A 5-track ride that boasts a genre-bending sound, this is a wild new release that's tough to take of repeat. Blending elements of Indie, Alternative, Hard Rock, and more, the band succeeds in delivering a nostalgic and refreshing sound.
One major highlight from the first note of this release is the instrumental work. Heavy-handed and melodic instrumentals are present in each track, and they're boosted through spot-on production work. Powerful vocal flows weave in and out through unique transitions and are amplified by impressive songwriting. We're not sure what they have planned next, but we are sure that Happy Hour will serve as the perfect example of why this band should be on your release radar.
Our only complaint? We wish it was longer! By the time Happy Hour is over, all you'll want to do is hear more. That's exactly what an EP is supposed to do. It's not every day that you come across a new project that can deliver unique and inviting tunes. This release may be short, as with any EP, but the impact it can leave is huge.
You can jam along to the new release in its entirety below. We also added a couple of our personal favorites to our Underground Indie & Alternative playlist on Spotify. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow The Party After so you can stay on top of their future releases. Enjoy!
