New York-based band, 2/14, dropped their debut full-length album, Adrienne's Garden, towards the end of last year. An 11-track ride that comes fully equipped with ripping instrumentals and poppy vocal flows, this is a dynamic pop punk/alternative release that hits feelings of nostalgia while also feeling new. What a release!
There's a raw energy that's present in the album that can really only be captured by bands living in the punk world. That raw energy also adds an emotional and relatable element to the mix. We think this is a big reason why this album feels so complete. Each track flows seamlessly into the next here. The heartfelt lyrical work also plays a big role in making these songs feel so inviting. We're not sure what they have planned next, but this was a great introduction to the band's sound, and Adrienne's Garden proves that 2/14 is a project that more fans of the style need to keep on their radar.
It's always refreshing to come across a sound that makes you want to hear more. From the first track after the intro, it's obvious that this album will blast out melodic jams that will keep your attention. We hope the band keeps up their momentum because we definitely want to hear more!
You can jam along to the new album in its entirety below. We also added a couple of our personal favorites to our Underground Punk playlist on Spotify. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow 2/14 so you can stay on top of what else they have going on. Enjoy!
